1/28/11 Heart Rate Test

7miles 3,000vertical ft

I took my resting heart rate this morning as I was getting out of bed.  It was hovering between 38-42bpm.  I visited the running magazine website and used their zone calculator to get my aerobic and anearobic targets. My aerobic heart rate should be between 149-162bpm.  My Anearobic heart rate should be between 163-170bpm.

I visited my regular running partner this morning and brought my heart rate monitor along for the ride.  Before I got going, my heart rate was around 58bpm.  I started my run with 30min of 30second intervals that repeated at 6%,13.5%,11%,and 18.5%.  All my pacing was at10min miles.  My heart rate held in the 150 range for about 12min. I worked my way throught the 160s over the next 12min and finished the intervals without going over 170.  I then kept my pace but zeroed the inclined and droped my beats to the around 122.  I changed the next three miles to a consistant 10% incline. My heart slowly worked its way up to 150 over the first mile. Over the second mile, my heart was working in the mid 150 range.  On my last mile, my heart peaked at around 162bpm.  I then once again zeroed the incline and droped my heart rate to about 129.  For the last mile I ran a 6min pace at zero incline and got my heart back up to 170 just at the end of the mile.  I don't know what that means, but the run felt good.
