My body is still healing from the weekend. I didn't do much as far as recovery nutrition after the race, so I'm probably paying for it. The down hill running took its tole on my legs, feet, and lower back. I do have to change my original statement though, the Salida race is most definitely not the hardest mountain marathon in Colorado. I just remembered about a little jaunt in the in the Springs called the Pikes Peak Marathon and Assent.. I have two friends that run this race and I'm positive that the Pummeling at Peak is even worse.
It is almost baby time. Jen had another checkup today and the doctor said that everything is green lights. Ander is looking healthy and strong which of course means that Jen is feeling just the opposite. She does look great though with her perfect little Buddha belly. I think we may be taking delivery classes either this weekend or next. It's going to be an exciting ride.
I just do the Ascent portion.. 13.32 miles. I know a couple years ago they called it due to weather and I had to turn around at mile 10, so 13 turned into 20 and those last 10 downhill were actually the hardest. Cramping calves are the worst. I like the blog!
