Hike with Ander

Ander and I got out to Boulder for about an hour long hike this morning.  I wanted a chance to use our new Sherpani baby backpack, which performed wonderfully.  I had high expectations set on getting out for regular winter hikes with my seven month old son, but I needed to work out some of the details.  Some of my early concerns included getting him in and out of the backpack by myself, carrying the right food and change of clothes, packing out messy diapers, wondering if he would eat enough on a longer hike, as well as getting a better idea about the amount of time and weather that would be safe for us.  Even after having a great hike, I just don't feel like this sort of outing is going to be a very regular part of my week after all.  The footing on the winter trails, especially in Boulder, are too unsure for me when caring a baby. I'm also constantly concerned about Ander's hands, feet, and face getting too cold.
