I've always hated winter. Cabin fever sets in starting with the first cold day of the year. I've traditionally found myself rushing from one heated building to another. My ass quickly molding to fit my couch as I adapt to our winter climate.
All these years and no one ever told me or I haven't listened to the fact that winter is absolutely the best time of year for running. The trails are way more interesting. I don't have to pack as much water. My body doesn't have to work as hard. The parks are empty. There isn't as much pressure to fit your miles to a training schedule. Life is merry.
This winter I would like to do a number of things differently. I wold like to fit a few more runs into my work week. I would like to spend more time running on the weekends in Eldorado Canyon, Dinosaur Ridge, and Walker Ranch. I would like to do more baby stroller miles with my family and dogs. I think this year, I'm going to miss winter.
