I got a chance to run on the Cheyenne Mtn Course today. It's going to be a great race. The directors, Andrea&Steve, have a brilliant collection of single track trails. I'm putting the race in my calender just in case our little bambino is still planning on waring a sombrero on his Bday!!!
One of my favorite things about trail running is the collection of conversations and people. Today, I met Sonja a triathlete headed for Kona and this years Ironman championships. Sonia and I talked about training. I've known for a long time that you have to learn to run slow before you can run fast, but it is really hard to do. Running at an aerobic pace trains your body to pull from its fat stores rather than glycogen. Just like Ricky Bobby, I like to go fast. To work your aerobic pace takes time, time can be hard to find, so I'm working on strengthing my heart. We will see...
